An early OpenTable page is up for Malibu Pier Restaurant and Bar, the imminent American restaurant and drinkery fated to hit the historic Malibu Pier this month. A Craigslist posting describes the cuisine served as "seasonal farm-fresh … with a contemporary seafood focused menu" and "a craft bar program." Management is looking to hire a sous chef.
Malibu Pier Restaurant and Bar marks the second SoCal eatery for San Francisco-based Lark Creek Restaurant Group following the hospitality developer's namesake Lark Creek, which debuted in Newport over a year ago. The Bay Area company — established by Michael Dellar, Leslye Dellar, chef Bradley Ogden and Jody Ogden — is known for a plethora of restaurants upstate, including SF's Michelin starred One Market. Late last summer Eater had a hunch the the group was coming to the Malibu Pier, and while reps refused to comment, in the fall Craigslist confirmed the expansion, though the specific concept was still unknown.
