Spicy Wings and Korean Sliders at Belly Bombz

On February 19, the popular Belly Bombz truck will take its cooking into a brick and mortar located in Artesia. After nearly two years, chef/owner Albert Shim (Catal), and partner Youngho Yoo (Kogi) decided their Korean-inspired spicy chicken wings are just too explosive for the small confines of a food truck despite recently obtaining a second truck.

The new store front will have a beer and wine license, with a grand opening scheduled for March 1. In addition to the full menu derived from the trucks, Belly Bombz will add rice bowls and burritos to its lunch menu along craft beer, sake, and soju. One of the dinner specials with be Shim's oxtail poutine made with Bootlegger's Black Phoenix. With the recent opening of the lauded Amor Y Taco and the arrival of haute Korean fried chicken, dining in the sleepy hollows of Cerritos/ Artesia is looking up in 2014. Hours will run 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and until 12 a.m. on weekends. [EaterWire]
