Bigmista's Needs $20k; Matthew Biancaniello at Loews

DOWNTOWN— Respected farmers market barbecue enterprise Bigmista's Barbecue is looking to raise $20k to cover front-of-house necessities like furniture and branding materials at its forthcoming restaurant within Medallion Apartments at 4th and Main. HOLLYWOOD—Ground to glass bar chef Matthew Biancaniello — who most recently flavored Pot Bar at The Line Hotel with walnut, mushroom, and uni libations — next assaults the lobby bar at Loews hotel on Highland in Hollywood. HOLLYWOOD— Wood & Vine's newish beverage director Justin Stidham has released a retooled winter bar menu that pays attention to both classic cocktails and seasonal creations. Drop in during late night happy hour and try drinks like Thai Massage (gin, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, vanilla bean, lime mint) and Ancho Rancho (mezcal, Ancho Reyes chili liqueur, red bell pepper, lemon, honey) for $5 a pop Monday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to midnight and Friday/Saturday from midnight to 2 am.
