Shuttering its decade-old Pico Boulevard bakery last June hasn't stopped Buttercake Bakery from snagging a book deal. Owners Logan Levant and Hilary Hattenbach will publish Kitchen Decoded, a cookbook with "chapters organized by tools and appliances, including recipes for goodies from Levant's famous Buttercake Bakery, that can help anyone make the most of their kitchen gadgetry, especially wedding gifts."
