The Oinkster Three Weeks Out; Fast Food by José Andrés

HOLLYWOOD— Just a quick update that chef Andre Guerrero's second slow food fast eatery The Oinkster on Vine Street is about three weeks from completion. [EaterWire]

AROUND TOWN— Bazaar chef José Andrés tells Vanity Fair that in the next year to year and a half he will launch some form of fast food concept: "...Ells, the founder of Chipotle, was the first chef to create a fast-food concept of biblical proportions, so we're going to see more chefs doing this … So I'm going to tell you, José wants to contribute to that, creating a fast-food restaurant. Which one? I cannot tell you yet. But will you see me doing fast-food restaurants in the next year, year and a half? Yes." [Vanity Fair]

DOWNTOWN— Restaurateur Jesse Gomez's first Mexican contribution, Yxta, has five years of tortillas to count. Thusly, tomorrow, from 11: 30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., the restaurant is discounting all food during lunch and dinner by fifty percent. Gomez is also holding an evening fiesta until 1 a.m. with a dj, comped apps, discounted drinks, and a Partida Tequila tasting. [EaterWire]
