Max City BBQ, the Kickstarter-funded restaurant that took over a former pot shop on Colorado Blvd., is finally starting to shape up after a long winter build. According to the eatery's Facebook page, owners Jason McDonald and Melanie Blair have received some of the necessary permits to open and are gunning for a March 16 debut. Last October, they had projected six weeks of construction, but the dust is finally settling and the smokers are almost ready to be fired up. Max City BBQ's menu will feature everything from pulled pork, baby back ribs, and brisket, along with key lime and sweet potato pies.
