Roadside Eats Bites the Dust After 7-Months in Hollywood

New, 8 comments
Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

It turns out the Arclight Complex in Hollywood isn't the perfect place to put a fast-casual concept.
Roadside Eats, from the Kaufman Restaurant Group (City Tavern, Rush Street) and chef Dave Northrup, will serve its last sandwich on March 1.

The Southern-tinted eatery touting salads, sandwiches, and more behind the Cinerama Dome never caught on with locals who bask in the likes of Stella Barra, Tender Greens, and Shop House, as well as The Hungry Cat just across the way.

Says management:

We remain proud of the product, but now was not its time in its current location...Roadside Eats will rise again! We are currently putting all of our energies into our new Downtown location of City Tavern.

No word on whether the group will recreate another concept at that location or ditch the spot altogether to focus on its other outlets.
