Gravlax, Scandinavian/Turkish Cuisine in Culver City

Photos by Elizabeth Daniels

Despite an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign, Gravlax, Culver City's colorful new Scandinavian/Turkish hybrid from Arda Koca and Lars Magnus Stefansson, has been soft serving since last weekend. After a long wait, the journey has finally begun for Swedish shrimp salad, mustard herring and a few other small bites, which comprise the restaurant's short initial bill of fare. And this right here is the list of beer and wine from near and far.

Koca and Stefansson together designed Gravlax with help from friends, and right now they're exhibiting art by Lindsay Carron, who is also responsible for those painted walls. During soft launch, Gravlax opens at 5 p.m for dinner, walk-ins only.
