Toluca Lake's Chez Nous morphed into Luca's, an uncommon sushi-bakery hybrid, after Lucy's 51 management took over in 2012. But the ancient French restaurant and bakery tucked within a white cottage on Riverside Drive is about to be reborn as Aeirloom, a cozy bakery plating an organic breakfast and lunch menu rooted in the Mediterranean. Which sounds a lot safe than a salmon skin roll and croissant alongside.
Geo Santini explains that he and partners began the Chez Nous overhaul several months ago and the've finished cosmetics and moved on to training staff. A soft opening is expected in the near future. In addition to all organic ingredients, Aeirloom is pushing locally sourced and GMO-free ingredients plus humanly raised animals. See an early bakery list here. [EaterWire]
