A popular happy hour spot for office workers in Beverly Hills, McCormick & Schmick's, the sort of old school seafood restaurant in the heart of Rodeo Drive, closed last Sunday after a fairly long tenure. That leaves a pretty gaping hole in some of the most valuable real estate in the country (Urasawa, by comparison, is just upstairs). No word from the current operators as to what will replace the leather banquette-filled eatery. With Barney Greengrass turning into Fred's just a few weeks ago, Beverly Hills' restaurant scene remains more ruthless than ever. [EaterWire]
