Welcome to a special Pizza Week edition of Eater Scenes, where Eater photographer Elizabeth Daniels visits some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, Pizzeria Mozza.
Weekends at Pizzeria Mozza, Nancy Silverton's enduring and iconic shop on the corner of Melrose and Highland, can be one of the most hectic places in the city. Still immensely popular, the fifty-seat eatery fills up early in the evening and persists until well past 11 p.m. With wine flowing, pies rolling, and desserts like the butterscotch budino finding itself on almost every table, Pizzeria Mozza has an electric energy that few places around town can match. Here now, Pizzeria Mozza at 8 p.m. on a Saturday evening.
