Denny's Downtown Makes Comeback; Watertable in HB

DOWNTOWN— A disappointed reader sends over the following note: "Much to the dismay of near-by office workers hoping for an upgrade, the Denny's on Figueroa between 8th and 9th has reopened." Brigham Yen thought it was down for the count, but not so much. [Eater Inbox]

AROUND TOWN— Fun! Coolhaus is scooping two new ice cream flavors. Just like the Fancy Boyz who do 'A Coffee & Donut' cookie, Coolhaus is selling a coffee and donut ice cream, in addition to Bananas Foster. [LAist]

DOWNTOWN— Management behind the South Park parking structure at 11th and Hope, which already houses Il Mare and Arashi Sushi, is converting some of its ground floor parking on Hope into 11,200 square feet of additional commercial retail space. Much of the area will be devoted to new restaurants, and some retail. [Brigham Yen]

HUNTINGTON BEACH— Watertable will replace The Californian within The Hyatt in Huntington Beach at the end of April. Executive chef Manfred Lassahn and director of F&B Jon Benson are working on a contemporary American menu paired with international wines, craft cocktails, beer-tails, and water drinks infused with fruits and herbs.
