For those who watch Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, some may have caught a glimpse of chef Francis Dimitrius. He opened cast member Lisa Vanderpump's Villa Blanca in 2008 and has made sporadic appearances on the Bravo series. But Dimitrius, who also trained at Matsuhisa in Aspen, has decamped from the Vanderpump clan to run the kitchen at Justice, a self-described Urban Tavern open today near the DoubleTree hotel in Little Tokyo.
Check out his almost complete menu, a sort of fusion American list filled with Korean bacon and eggs, a pastrami sandwich, and cornflake-crusted chicken. Plates are pretty reasonably priced, with entrees coming in under $24 (for a porterhouse), and that's because Justice wants to feed locals and serve as a neighborhood place for food and (some craft) beer. In fact, RIM Restaurant Group named its new eatery after nearby federal agencies like the Hall of Justice, City Hall, and the police department.
Drop by today at 4:30 p.m. for all night happy hour and a comp pint glass for the first 100 guests.
