The Whisper Reopens Tomorrow; Ben & Jerry's Scoop Day

MID-CITY— The Whisper's remodel over at The Grove is about complete and the loungey restaurant reopens tomorrow after a month long shutter. Remember, mall developer Rick J. Caruso invested half a million bucks to bring this place up to speed. And chef Anthony Jacquet has a new American menu to show, too. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN—LA Weekly is hosting an art event called Artopia on May 15 from 7 to 11 p.m. at Grand Central Market. Organizers describe this one as a "celebration of the vibrant arts scene in Los Angeles" involving "food, music, drinks, fashion, film and live art installations." It's also a party connected to the Weekly's Best of LA People Issue (on sale May 15). Tickets include unlimited beer, wine and other booze, and cost $35 until April 8 or $45 at the door. [ELA]
