Get this. There's a possibility that the newly passed food handler bill — the one that requires food industry employees who touch "ready-to-eat" foods to wear gloves — could be annulled. Assemblyman Richard Pan told the LA Times that "A vast number of our local restaurants and bars raised serious concerns with this prohibition after the passage of this new law" and now the state Assembly's Health Committee has voted to repeal the law. Next, the bill to return the food safety code to its previous language will go to a floor vote. [LAT]
