Samarkand Café Lands within The Market at Medallion

Dan Levy and wife Firuza's Uzbek restaurant Samarkand Café is one of the six new eateries (and farmers market) fated to open within The Market at Medallion, a project in the works for some time from Medallion developer Saeed Farkhondehpour in conjunction with John Edwards, president of Raw Inspiration Inc. and California Certified Farmers Markets.

And guess what?! The Levys met their Kickstarter goal of $18k. At just 390 square feet, Samarkand Café will have a simple setup similar to some vendors at Grand Central Market, with dining counter service for eight in addition to communal tables. Chef Habiba Musaeva has finalized the restaurant's Uzbek menu and the plan is to serve late June or early July.
