Art's Table, a new American restaurant and wine bar, replaced 27-year-old neighborhood stalwart Babalu on Montana and 10th about two weeks ago. Owner Mark Verge (the guy behind Westside Rentals) named the eatery after his father, Art Verge, and hired chef Mark Mittleman (Prana Café, The Polo Lounge) to devise an approachable lunch and dinner menu composed of a kale salad, roasted pork belly, and short rib pappardelle all under $28 for dinner. As for alcohol, one will find eight California craft beers on tap, some more by bottle, plus four wines on tap and about two dozen by glass and bottle. Soft opening hours are daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with brunch offered on weekends. [ELA]
