There's always room for better food in Hollywood, and Milton Sznaider's Madera Kitchen is poised to fill a neighborhood void tomorrow with inspired Mediterranean plates. What a change from Wonderland, the Dolce-operated club now fit with lemon yellow banquettes, a herringbone wooden ceiling, and a Mediterranean mosaic tiled bar. Small plates of nduja toast with anchovy and bitter greens, chickpea fritters with cilantro and yogurt, and buckwheat chitarra with poached egg and black garlic are priced between $6 and $18. Larger entrees of farro strew and skirt steak with sunchokes cost $18 to $25.
A pretty place to dine inside or out, Madera Kitchen's rustic industrial look was conceived by duo Vanessa and Jake Hooper, while designer Allison Hanley curated art. Hours of operation to run Sunday to Wednesday from 6 p.m. to midnight and Thursday to Saturday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
