ChocoChicken in NY Times; Gratis Empanadas

DOWNTOWN—Adam Fleischman (Umami) and his newest effort ChocoChicken are profiled in The New York Times today. The restaurant, which is already drawing attention for its curious list of ingredients which involves both chocolate and chicken, is slated to open sometime in the next month. In addition to the eatery's chocolate chicken namesake, it will also serve mashed potatoes with white chocolate and ketchup with dark chocolate. The bacon muffins, however, will be devoid of chocolate. Though the first ChocoChicken has yet to open, expansion is already in the works. Also of note, the piece states that Fleischman has "stepped down as chief executive of Umami to help lead this latest let's-invent-a-new-taste mission" and a rep for Fleischman explains that he's still founder and chairman, but no longer CEO.
