Fans of retro diners will be pleased to know that Cindy's Restaurant in Eagle Rock, which mainly survived by acting in as greasy spoons in TV and movies, is re-open as of early April after a brief remodel and menu overhaul.

Retooled by Paul Rosenbluh (Firefly) and Monique King (NINEThirty), the classic roadside eatery is offering a modern American menu with global influences, like brisket hash, creamed kale omelet, BBQ chicken salad and shrimp & grits. Current hours run 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with dinner commencing in May.
