Another Louise's Trattoria bites the dust. The Santa Monica branch, located just across the street from the Brentwood Country Mart, is flipping into a new barbecue restaurant called Holy Cow. The tagline is "hang out or take out" and Rob Serritella of Messhall is behind the place. He's looking to launch by the middle of June, with plywood anticipated to go up the first week of May. Expect a cowboy/ranch/barn design.
Barbecue is totally a thing in LA evidenced by the profusion of new dedicated restaurants from Bludso's Bar & Que to Pork Belly's, HomeState, Roadhouse LA, Max City BBQ and The Pit, among others. Today brings the debut of Hiatus Barbecue and still to come is Bigmista's. [EaterWire]
