About a week ago Eater heard a rumor that Manhattan's wildly successful West Village neighborhood restaurant The Spotted Pig was headed to Los Angeles. Now The Hollywood Reporter says that owner Ken Friedman and chef April Bloomfield are taking over Local 1205 on Abbot Kinney to open a Venice branch. Eater reached out to Friedman who thus far has only said, "I'm not sure we will ever try to recreate the magical Spotted Pig at the corner of 11th and Greenwich Streets in Manhattan." So, it sounds more like a Friedman/Bloomfield work is en route but perhaps not The Spotted Pig.
