Barbecue is taking over Los Angeles, with grill-dedicated restaurants launching left and right. And while this one isn't headed to the center of the city, chef Charlie McKenna is looking to install a fourth location of Lillie's Q in Brea, his competition barbecue and Southern food joint which has twice proved successful in Chicago and once in Florida. For location four he's partnering with Joe Manzella of TAPS Fish House & Brewery, also in Brea, with the goal to open this summer. Similar to meats served at other locations, expect pork shoulder, tri- tip, baby back ribs, hot links, and chicken slow smoked using peach wood and lump charcoal. In addition to barbecue, one might also find fried pickles, hush puppies and shrimp/grits. And with regard to the restaurant's full bar, think moonshine-based cocktails on draft and custom brews made for Lillie Q's by TAPS. [EaterWire]
