The Hayden Tract has a nifty roaster and cafe in the heart of the industrial district thanks to Bar Nine Collective, founded by Jereme Pitts and Zayde Naquib. Soft open for the last six months but officially serving today with blessings from the Health Department, Bar Nine is now brewing their own roasted specialty beans on fancy ModBar machines tucked away under the super-low countertop.

Semi-manual methods via Chemex will allow java lovers to get their drip coffee, in addition to espresso drinks. Bar Nine is also offering a menu of oolong teas, house-baked pastries, and savory morning bites. For true coffee fanatics, they'll host public cuppings and tastings on Sundays, plus classes for home baristas. Hours of operation run 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and starting at 8 a.m. on weekends.
