Local 1205 Is On The Market, So Friedman/Bloomfield Are Not Moving In

New, 2 comments

Sorry to burst the bubble but Ken Friedman and chef April Bloomfield from The Spotted Pig in Manhattan are not, in fact, taking Local 1205. Yesterday real estate firm BRC Advisors blasted out an e-mail announcing that the multi-purpose cafe and market on Abbot Kinney is for sale at $950k, which knocks out the possibility of a Friedman/Bloomfield production. The property comes with a 41 beer and wine license and 3,200 square feet of wiggle room.

A few weeks ago The Hollywood Reporter announced that Friedman/Bloomfield were planning to open a branch of their famed West Village gastropub within the Local 1205 space, but when Eater conversed with Friedman he said, "I'm not sure we will ever try to recreate the magical Spotted Pig... " So not only is The Spotted Pig in LA a no-go, but Friedman/Bloomfield are not holding the Local 1205 space either.
