NorCal-based farm to fork butcher Belcampo Meat Co. is poised to open its Santa Monica restaurant and bar this fall but, as mentioned, owner Anya Fernald is holding an early pop-up to whet westside palates. Belcampo Santa Monica lands in the old Dakota Lounge space right next to Huckleberry on Wilshire and today marks day one of the restaurant's early preview run. Drop in through May 25 from 5 to 10 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, for duck sliders, beef heart skewers with chimichurri and Belcampo's juicy cheeseburger. See the sample menu.
Also, starting May 1, a bunch of top bartenders will mix and muddle intoxicants as follows: Otis Florence (New York's Attaboy, Pouring Ribbons), Aaron Stepka (Acabar), Hilary Chadwick (Petty Cash Taqueria), and Dave Fernie (Honeycut).
