Nick's, an OC-based chain of restaurants, is opening a branch inside the doomed Chez Soi/Sashi space in Manhattan Beach some time in Summer 2014. With a Houston's-like menu of comfort food and classic American dishes like ciopinno, pork ribs, and burgers, Nick's should find a nice home in this part of the South Bay. The chain also has a spot in Long Beach, so this northern progression seems understandable. Will a classic American eatery finally work in that slot after multiple failures by other restaurateurs?
