800 Degrees Expands to Playa Vista; Free Blaze at FM

PLAYA VISTA— 800 Degrees is getting its 9th iteration in Playa Vista with a 170 seat eatery at the Runway Lifestyle Shopping Center. The beachside megaproject only has a small handful of unique places to get a meal, so this budget-friendly fast casual should fit the billing nicely come Fall or Winter 2014. As for their Old Town Pasadena outlet, the pizza chainlet is delayed, with plans to open before year end. [ELA]

FARMER'S MARKET—More pizza, this time inside the Farmer's Market on 3rd and Fairfax from Blaze, which is giving away pies all day on May 1 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. [EaterWire]

AROUND TOWN—Here's an exclusive preview clip of tonight's Knife Fight, pitting Sal Marino (Il Grano) and Mark Peel (Campanile) in a grind-it-out culinary battle of sea snails at The Gorbals. Premieres at 9:30 p.m. [ELA]
