Arts District's neighborhood bar, One Eyed Gypsy, has been shut down because of non payment of sales taxes by the California State Board of Equalization. Yelpers reported the closure to be around April 17 while this ABC posting shows a suspension of the 47 license because of a Board of Equalization collections hold. Owner Dana Hollister might also be on the hook by the BOE for a Franchise Tax hold placed on Villains Tavern, though the sister bar is still in operation. No word on when the Gypsy will open again, or if it will at all.
Update: Hollister tells Eater that this closure will only be in effect for 30 days or less. So the Gypsy is coming back.
