First & Hope Might Get Taken Over By A Plant-Based Eatery

First & Hope, which has been quietly living along the northern edge of Downtown for years after its fanfare opening in 2010, is being bought out by a new owner. According to this ABC filing with a dba of It's A Plant Based Restaurant, First & Hope is currently in escrow to change hands to one Linh Xuan Nguyen. A phone call to First & Hope, which is still in operation, yielded only a brusque answer as to the changeover, but if the sale goes through, then First & Hope will finally be kaput.

When it opened, First & Hope was a leader in the ritzy supper club trend, introducing fancy cocktails and a swanky ambiance to theater-goers, but numerous chef shuffles and the like have left it relatively blasé in the past few years. Developing...
