WESTWOOD—Fancypants movie house chain iPic Theaters debuts May 2 on Wilshire Boulevard. Interestingly enough, patrons at the 424-seat, six-screen theater can order food like salmon tartar cones and lobster rolls off a menu devised by former Spago pastry queen Sherry Yard. She'll also be selling sweets from her forthcoming Helms Bakery inclusive of apple caramel ice cream cups and crème fraiche rhubarb pops. Bartender Adam Seger is in charge of seasonal cocktails. A separate restaurant called Tanzy is also slated to open within the theatre. [EaterWire]

CENTURY CITY— All guests who dine at RockSugar on April 13 will be treated to a comp order of crab and shrimp dumplings for Thai New Year. [EaterWire]

USC— The LA Times Festival of Books is back April 12 and 13 at USC and this year's cooking stage lineup includes culinary demos and interviews from Alan Jackson and JoAnn Cianciulli (Lemonade), Roy Choi (POT), Suzanne Goin (AOC), Hugh Acheson (The National), Scott Conant (Scarpetta), The Chew host Carla Hall, and Ben Ford (Ford's Filling Station). Note, the fest is free to attend. [EaterWire]

COACHELLA— Guess who else is hitting Coachella? Music producer turned gourmet donut maker Mark Trombino of Donut Friend in Highland Park is creating a slew of new donuts for Heineken. They are meant to pair with Heineken Fusions and will be served at The Heineken House (on festival grounds) both weekends. [EaterWire]
