This is interesting. Michael Dobson, co-owner of Red O on Melrose, is in escrow to command favored beachside hang The Venice Whaler. Which, as some might recall, changed ownership back in 2008 and cleaned itself up a bit. According to reps, this is a totally separate project from Red O and is not at all connected with the modern Mexican restaurant's expansion to Ma'Kai in Santa Monica.
