Despite recently getting shutdown by the DOH in New York, you've gotta give it to cronut creator Dominique Ansel and his ongoing pursuit of imaginative baked goods. The most famous of which is obviously the cronut, a creation that spawned widespread copycat renditions here in Los Angeles. Just last month for Austin's SXSW, Ansel debuted Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shots: a chocolate chip cookie shot glass filled with vanilla-scented milk for $3.
Beginning April 9, Culver City's Platine Bakery is rolling out its own version, which is almost identical to Ansel's except that Platine is filling its cookies with cookie-flavored milk instead of vanilla milk for $3. The Ansel knock is part of Platine's new spring menu that also includes mini loaf cakes, hot cross buns, and Peep-inspired cookies.
