A few updates from the Adam Fleischman/AdVantage Partners camp. Their Spanish restaurant and wine bar smoke.oil.salt, cheffed by Perfecto Rocher (Lazy Ox), will open in the once Angeli Caffe (and almost Itri) space on April 22. Rocher is going for a mix of traditional and modern Spanish tapas with extra focus on seafood, Iberico hams, and definitely paella, which he tested out back at The Ox. Those paellas, however, will only be made on Sunday and Monday nights. Also, regarding wine, patrons will have the option to BYO up to six bottles with a low corkage or pick from over 100 bottles in house. Hours will run 5:30 p.m. to midnight nightly, with a late night food menu after that and wine service until 2 a.m.
Meanwhile, that second westside ChocoChicken outlet is confirmed for 104 Santa Monica Blvd. in the old 104 Wine Bar By the Ocean spot. This one is set to open by the fall but location one in downtown should launch within the next few weeks. In addition to fried chicken marinated in a sauce the includes chocolate, also expect mashed potatoes with white chocolate, biscuits from Cake Monkey, and sauces like miso ranch and ketchup with dark chocolate.
