Additional details surface today for Pistola. The upcoming eatery inside the former AOC space by Vic Casanova (Gusto) and Seth Glassman, will be modeled after a 1950's NY steakhouse with Italian influences. Think old-school grilled meat along with pastas. It makes sense considering Casanova's prowess with grilled beef, and Glassman's long tenure at BOA Steakhouse on Sunset. Though the place doesn't fit too many people (probably 80 or so), it does feature high ceilings, serving as a grand setting for the most anticipated restaurant opening this year. Though PR flacks aren't saying when Pistola will debut, the interior is currently undergoing a remodel.
