Gordon, Buhen Among Featured in Weekly's People Issue

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

A number of local food luminaries get features in this year's LA Weekly People edition, from Tony Xu of Chengdu Taste to Jesse Gomez of the budding Mercado empire. Throw in Sonia Hong of the now re-opened Irv's Burgers in West Hollywood, Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections, the bar lifer Mike Buhen of Tiki Ti, Monica Lee of Beverly Soontofu, Marti Noxon of Grist & Toll, and wine guy Lou Amdur.

Overall, a strong and varied lineup of some of the movers and shakers of the local food scene, as well as some longtime participants who have flown under the radar for many years. A testament to L.A.'s strong diversity, over half the profiled represent an ethnic heritage or cuisine. The vignettes get posted in print tomorrow.
