Chef Kris Morningstar Departing Ray's & Stark Bar

Early this morning, chef Kris Morningstar, who has been with Patina Group's Ray's & Stark Bar (inside the LACMA) for nearly four years, announced that he would be leaving his post as executive chef. Longtime chef de cuisine Viet Pham will take Morningstar's place. In an email to the LA Weekly this morning, Morningstar wrote:

"I am writing to announce my departure from Ray's & Stark Bar. I have some new, fun things in right in front of me. I am truly grateful for all of the opportunity and mentorship Chef Joachim has extended to me over the years. I am, however, very excited to be pursuing new opportunities."

Following this announcement, Morningstar wrote to friends and family on Facebook: "Thank you Ray's! It's been fun. New exciting things on the horizon....Exciting meetings happened this week!" Morningstar has not yet announced his next move.
