MALIBU— LA Times gets an update from Jason Fullilove on the upcoming Malibu Pier Restaurant & Bar, which is looking toward a May 15 debut. Seating 120 people, the daily menu will feature local farmers and fisherman, along with hand-cut pasta and steak for landlubbers. [LA Times]

MIDCITY— Tom Bergin's will commence brunch tomorrow at 11 a.m. In honor of the Kentucky Derby, Bergins is offering $5 Buffalo Trace mint juleps. [EaterWire]

LOS FELIZ— Fred 62 has a new "Late Night Owl Stoners and Drunkards," menu that should be a hit with the after hours crowd on the Eastside. Served from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m., think lobster tacos, mac n' BBQ balls, waffle sliders, and frito pie. [ELA]
