FAIRFAX DISTRICT—Bird N Hand is a new fried chicken joint on Fairfax from Adel Chagar in the former Chameau spot. Opened about two weeks ago, it boasts free-range chicken fried as wings, sandwiches, and more. The early word is decidedly mixed. [Daily Trojan]

HOLLYWOOD— Acabar is launching new three course, $45 menu tonight boasting everything from kanpachi crudo and steamed mussels to a 22 oz cauliflower steak (seriously...cauliflower does not need to be weighed out in ounces like it's Angus) and carrot cakes for sweets. [EaterWire]

CAHUENGA—Blue C Sushi, the higher-end revolving sushi bar, has a secret new menu item called the Tempura Brownie (just ask for it). A deep-fried brownie topped with ice cream and strawberries, it's a decadent treat to finish a meal before watching a movie at Arclight. [ELA]
