Dakota Weiss Will Be Chef at Alan Nathan's Resto

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Big news regarding Alan Nathan's upcoming project in West Hollywood. The longtime restaurateur has signed up Dakota Weiss, Eater's Hottest Chef of 2013 and toque of The W Hotel Westwood's, to helm the kitchen at restaurant. Opening late 2014, Studio Collective Design will put together the interior (they're currently working on the finishing aspects of Giada de Laurentiis' place in Vegas). The all-day eatery will service breakfast through dinner, with weekend brunch, with a slant toward seafood, quality meats, and house-baked goods.

Also, plenty of vegetarian and vegan friendly items, as is apt for WeHo. Weiss writes in say that foodie spectrum won't be denied their fun either: I will have something for everyone from a vast vegetarian and vegan selection to the ultimate foodie seeking rare and unusual ingredients prepared in surprising ways but all focusing on the ingredient at hand and letting it shine and be the star."

As for the interior, expect a kind of boho chic, something reminiscent of the 1960's Laurel Canyon music scene. And the front will feature a living vertical green wall as a "screen" against Sunset Blvd. Should be a nice place to hideaway, among many others in the area that feature walled gardens and patios.
