Breaking. Not only did Blue Bottle snatch up Handsome Coffee, with plans for an Abbot Kinney shop, but the Oakland-based roaster just signed a lease on the corner of this Art Deco building on Beverly Blvd and Sweetzer. This makes it the third location for Blue Bottle, despite that the fact that the venture capital-funded roastery and cafe hasn't officially opened a spot in L.A. With so much investment made already into the city of L.A., it's no question that the city of Angels is poised to become a specialty coffee powerhouse. No opening date yet, but expect something by early 2015.
