Well that was quick. Providence, Michael Cimarusti and Donato Poto's lauded seafood and fine dining standard bearer in Hancock Park, is re-opening tonight after a complete transformation over the past ten days. The main changes, conducted by Tamara Kaye-Honey, go to the patio, which is now covered, and pretty much every other detail save the barnacles that line the main dining room. The bar gets a snazzy Art Deco ocean liner feel while the ancillary rooms feel cozy and elegant. One could sit on the blue velvet lined chairs for hours while modern accents like that colorful canvas wall accent keep things fresh. It's a hefty upgrade for the nine-year old, two Michelin-starred restaurant. Tables are nearly booked for the night, but look forward to an "affordable" tasting menu for the month of June.
