The high-end grilled cheese concept keeps finding new ways to reinvent itself. While The Melt has sprouted up across the city and Eric Greenspan's Grilled Cheese finally debuted, Asiago Grilled Cheese quietly opened last week in Downtown doing a Chipotle-style, build-a-sandwich at the counter service. Like the childhood snack, it's easy: pick a bread and cheese, then load up with toppings like tomatoes. Lunch specials run about $10 bucks with a side of soup or salad - the ideal fodder for hungry office workers roaming the area around lunch. But wait, there's breakfast too, like cheese omelets and burritos. open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
