Seventy7 Studio City Knocked Out For A Few Months

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Seventy7 North, the Studio City offshoot of the small Culver City bar, is down for the count due to permitting issues.

Though opened for nearly four months, the lounge had to shutter two weeks ago, perhaps precipitated by the transfer of the 47 license to new ownership.

The pending transfer might have tipped off the city with some infrastructure issues, though Seventy7 isn't saying what the issue exactly is. Either way, they're only planning on being closed for 45-90 days, which is good news for fans of the clubby, speakeasy vibe.
