Here's Tanzy, an Italian restaurant with outlets in Scottsdale and Boca Raton opening May 12 inside iPic Theaters in Westwood. A bit unheralded, Tanzy is helmed by Bryan Podgorski, who put time in at the French Laundry and served as chef de cuisine at Bouchon in Las Vegas, with plans to introduce this off-the-beaten path locale on the southern part of Wilshire. Think grilled Spanish octopus, braised beef short rib, and panna cotta with Harry's strawberries. Simple, approachable, and probably more than sufficient for the well-heeled denizens on the condo-centric stretch between Westwood and Beverly Hills.

Drinks and wine come via Master Sommelier Adam Seger, who's preparing a craft cocktail menu to go along with the familiar fare. Designed by Karen Hanlon, see a loungey, expansive dining area with some distressed wood vines galore, smooth metal surfaces, and earthy hues. As a side note, Sherry Yard isn't involved with Tanzy proper, just the Tanzy Express part that serves the 424 seat theater operation. Open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch, and 4 to 10 p.m. for dinner, making it an ideal pre-theater meal.
