Fundamental LA in Westwood has a new chef, Phillip Pretty, who previously cut his chops at Joe's and Gordon Ramsay at the London. As a result, the rather staid menu got a nice refresh, with a fried chicken sandwich with jicama slaw and spicy aioli on a housemade biscuit for lunch, or "kung pao" sweetbreads with haricot verts for dinner.
