Playa Provisions Opening Various Concepts By End of May

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

New opening details have emerged for Playa Provisions, the multi concept space started by Top Chef 's runner-up Brooke Williamson and husband Chef Nick Roberts (The Tripel, Hudson House). Two of the four-in-one concepts will open May 23rd; King Beach Cafe, a casual eatery for soups, salads, sandwiches and alcoholic beverages, and Small Batch Ice Cream, an ice cream shop featuring home-made ice cream.

Next, on May 24th, Dockside Seafood Restaurant, a higher end restaurant and approx. a 100 seater, opens but will only serve brunch for the first two weeks, with dinner service incorporated in the beginning of June. Lastly, Grain Whisky Bar will open mid-June as a speakeasy concept that will put a new twist on traditional craft cocktails. According to Craig's List, they have recently started hiring for all positions. — Keyla Vasconcellos
