Tatsu Ramen Hoping To Open on Melrose by July 1

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Tatsu Ramen, which sold hundreds of thousands of noodle bowls at their Sawtelle location, is currently only a few weeks from opening on the corner of Melrose and La Brea, around the corner for the line-heavy Pink's Hot Dogs. Founder Ryu Isobe is upping the game substantially here, including a separate noodle operation that will supply both this spot and the Sawtelle original. The same iPad ordering system will take place before 50 or so diners can pack into a room that boasts a unique angular ceiling. In the meantime, Isobe has commissioned a grand dragon mural to line the exterior of the building.
