McConnell's Ice Cream, which is hitting Downtown's Grand Central Market some time in early July, will be taking over this stall, right next to Wexler's Deli and across from Sticky Rice. The celebrated ice cream shop from Santa Barbara announced their invasion of L.A. just last week.

However, the untold story here is that the owner of Casa de Dulces, the sweets shop that formerly stood here, found out just days before she was required to vacate the premises. On her last day there, Eater checked in to confirm that McConnell's was to take that spot. The owner sighed regretfully, but affirmed the news. And just like that, no more $4 crepes and cheap slices of cake for those roaming around Grand Central Market.
Update: A source familiar with market operations says that Casa de Dulces had 30 days, plus one week to vacate the space.
