Welcome Uplifter's Cafe to Santa Monica's Ocean Park, a casual breakfast and lunchtime spot that'll be ideal for all the office workers and residents in the area. Founded by Elisabet Spaulding and Tara Amiel, the former caterers are now brick & mortar serving the likes of breakfast biscuits, scones, cakes, muffins, flatbreads, and salads (they're still catering, just ask).

Throw in some fine local products like Stumptown Coffee, Art of Tea, Better Booch, and Juice Love pressed juices, and one has a rather nice variety of grab-and-go or quick mid-morning break time treats. The upstart likely won't serve dinner, so hours run weekdays 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with Saturday service going until 4:30 p.m. Closed Sundays.
